They also mentioned other new features will gradually get added in across the Beta Season. It's also made clear it's still early days for the game, and "feedback is critical". Rank and progression shared across all devices.During this Open Beta stage, they will be introducing new features to it including: Valve said, that after "approximately a week" of this testing, it will then enter an Open Beta stage. Party up and play together against bots or other players. Practice offline against our lineup of advanced bots (from easy to hardcore difficulty).Play online against seven other players. This is to help Valve stress-test it and it will allow you to: In this game, victory is determined not by twitch reflexes, but by superior tactics.įor those of you who have the Dota 2 Battle Pass, you should already see it in your Steam Library ready to install (and that includes Linux). I play solo bc I've got 1 friend due to not playing dota for offset 3 years.A lot sooner than expected, Valve have revealed Dota Underlords, their stand-alone version of Dota 2 Auto Chess.ĭota Underlords is a new stand-alone game that pits you against seven opponents in a battle of wits that will have you building, combining, and leveling-up a crew in a battle of dominance for the city of White Spire. Valve to make it eziur to add friends too. But last time I thought a game was going to revolutionize a genre and be the most amazing thing come to mobas (paragon) epic closed it down and concentrated on raking in the cash from nnn fortnite. Which gives me hope it will continue to be the game WE'RE want. I love the path underlords is taking and to me it's the absolute funniest. Might even become hugely competitive and then grille it from nnn there. It's doing those numbers purely off word of mouth. I think they want a stable ass fire ad fuck game b4 pushing it and underwhelming ppl. But I think valve had done little to no marketing for this game bc just a week ago they flipped this game on its head with the new patch. Idk if that's true or if tft is any ever from underlords but I invited him back once new patch came out and he said it seems to be a lot more stable and he likes it. His exact words were tft is easier to fine back from. My buddy streams and he knows nothing of mobs for real. I really hope they’ll change their ways and start an aggressive marketing push once the game comes out of beta, but unfortunately I doubt they will. Underlords is hovering around 70k players, but that could be so much higher if they spent money on actual marketing so more people would know the game even exists. But, this stubborn refusal to market them is preventing the games from reaching as large a playerbase as they could. It’s only disappointing because Valve is so excellent at creating high-quality games. Even Steam itself isn’t nearly as ubiquitous as it used to be, so a huge number of people just don’t see any featured spots for Valve games/updates on the front page of the Store. They’re certainly not following Valve products and they don’t just magically hear about Underlords releasing somehow. Valve isn’t universally known as a developer like they were in 2011 there’s an entire generation of gamers that either don’t know Valve exists or think they just run Steam. Marketing is a vital part of a game’s success people need to somehow find out that your game exists. It’s frustrating to watch from the outside because “let the game speak for itself” is just an outdated strategy nowadays. Marketing is an afterthought to Valve, they think the game should speak for itself.
